Plaintiff, a 23-year-old construction laborer, was working on a scaffold when an improperly secured cinder block fell, crushing his hand. The plaintiff developed a bad infection due to the incident and underwent multiple surgeries, including skin grafting. HKD commenced an action against the owner and general contractor, claiming violations of the New York State Labor Law Section 240. HKD partner, Jonathan Damashek, secured $4,500,000.00 for the client.
