A fatal train derailment accident on Sunday led to four deaths, 60 injuries, and an investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). The NTSB isn’t the only one investigating the incident, though; the legal team at Hecht Kleeger & Damashek (HKD) is currently handling an investigation as well. At the firm, we are actively representing clients injured in the accident and filing notices of claim against the Metro North Commuter Railroad and the Metropolitan Transportation Agency.

New sources indicate that the train approached a 30 mph turn traveling approximately 70 mph. The NTSB has not released an official cause for the accident, but two event recorders were recovered from the accident and sent to Washington for inspection.
