$900,000 – Injured Construction Worker – Labor Law – Back Surgery

Plaintiff, a demolition worker, was injured when a scaffold collapsed, causing him to fall through an unguarded opening. Plaintiff sustained multiple rib fractures as well as herniated discs in his lower back requiring a lumbar fusion surgery. Plaintiff sued the owner and general contractor, and was granted summary judgment pursuant by the Court on the issue of liability pursuant to Labor Law § 240. The case settled before jury selection for $900,000.00 of the $1,000,000 insurance limits.
