$1,600,000 – Slip and Fall – Wet Floor – Back and Neck Injuries

Plaintiff, a 53 y/o woman was walking in the supermarket when she was caused to slip and fall on water leaking from a freezer. As a result of the accident, plaintiff sustained injuries to her lumbar and cervical spines. Plaintiff underwent several rounds of steroid injections in both her cervical and lumbar spines, but ultimately required fusion surgery in her cervical spine. Defendants argued that had no notice of the leaking condition and that all of plaintiff’s injuries were degenerative in nature. The case was resolved by HKD partner Jonathan Damashek.
