Plaintiff, a 49 y/o restaurant manager, was sitting in his car when he was rear-ended by the defendant. Plaintiff sustained a torn meniscus in his right knee which required 2 arthroscopic surgeries. Thereafter, the plaintiff developed an infection in his knee that resulted in an above the knee amputation. The case was settled at mediation by HKD associate Jeffrey Koeing and HKD partner Jonathan Damashek for $1,450,000.00 of the available $1,500,000.00 insurance policy.
