Labor Law – Fall from Ladder – $3,330,000

Plaintiff was a laborer who was injured when he was caused to fall off an unsecured ladder. Plaintiff sued, alleging violations of the New York State Labor Law. Defendants argued that the plaintiff did not fall from the ladder and simply tripped while walking. Plaintiff sustained a traumatic brain injury causing serious psychiatric issues as well as injuries to his back requiring surgery. Plaintiff was unable to return to work. The case was resolved by HKD partners Jordan Hecht and Jonathan Damashek
